SCHOLARSHIPS

Phyllis Holt's intent for this scholarship program was in the spirit of helping educate those women who have little or no means by which to obtain an education.

Criteria for Network of Executive Women Scholarship Awards

The primary objective of the Network of Executive Women scholarship awards is to offer scholarships to women in need of financial assistance for educational undergraduate degrees, retraining, or certification purposes.

Each year, scholarships are provided to women who, in our estimation, could best realize their potential by continuing their education.  The aim of this scholarship award is to give the recipients enough education to find meaningful employment, better their present position, or re-enter the work force.

The Application Process

Scholarships are awarded annually in April.  Applications are available in February of each year. To request an application, please contact Virginia Allen at 203-795-0305.

Undergraduate scholarships are offered to women residing or attending school in the New Haven or Fairfield Counties of Connecticut and demonstrating financial need.  Applicants must be returning, continuing or commencing schooling or other types of training to further their educational goals and/or enhance their job skills. In fairness to all applicants, completed applications will only be considered if submitted in the time frame stated above.

In addition to financial need, the applicant must show a commitment to her chosen program. This information is included in the scholarship application. The applicant must then meet with the Scholarship Committee in an in-person interview to verify long and short-term goals and answer any further questions that may need clarification.

The Scholarship Committee then submits the applicant information to the Board of Directors for approval. Scholarships are awarded in April.
