The
Application Process
Scholarships
are awarded annually in April. 2009 applications
are expected to be available in late January. [The
exact application availability and submission
dates for 2009 will be posted on this page as soon
as they are determined.] To
request an application, please contact Virginia
Allen at 203-795-0305.
Undergraduate
scholarships are offered to women residing or attending
school in the New Haven or Fairfield Counties of
Connecticut and demonstrating financial need. Applicants
must be returning, continuing or commencing
schooling or other types of training to further their
educational goals and/or enhance their job skills.
In fairness to all applicants, completed applications
will only be considered if submitted in the time frame
stated above.
In
addition to financial
need, the applicant must show a commitment to
her chosen program. This information is included
in the scholarship application. The applicant must
then meet with the Scholarship Committee in an in-person
interview to verify long and short-term goals and
answer any further questions that may need clarification.
The
Scholarship Committee then submits the applicant information
to the Board of Directors for approval. Scholarships
are awarded in April.
